Turkey, Potatoes and Pie...Oh MY!

Three days later and I still feel like I have a food hangover. This year I almost felt guilty for all the food that was in front of me. Not because of the caloric intake of course:D, but because of the gross amount that is so abundant to us regularly. Something I take for granted every single day. It didn't help that one of the speakers at church yesterday spoke about sharing his meals with 2 adorable starving children who would come find him at his army camp (is that what it's called). A very sweet story but yet something that my children could never comprehend. That's it, I'm making my children beg for their quesadillas so that they'll appreciate them.:D

Anyway, I didn't take any pics of the important stuff over the weekend but I figured it has been a while since I've posted "wannabe" fashionable pics so here ya go. Yesterday's attire:

Shirt: Target 9.99, Skirt: Anthropologie $75ish-hey, don't be a hater. A basic black skirt that I love and wear all the time is worth EVERY penny. Tights: Target: $3.99, Booties: Payless $16.99, Ring: Forever 21 $2.80-I wear it all the time!

Not that I shop anywhere that carries $900 Jimmy Choo shoes but if I did, I'm sure this would be the look on my face if my daughter tried to try one on. Shoe stores hate us. She's really good at messing up all the displays. Free entertainment! Did you check out my 80's purple eye shadow?:D

Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? My sister puts me in charge of the desserts. Thank goodness for Marie Calendar's. Just ordered my pies yesterday afternoon. Why cook when you can pay someone else to do the job? Especially nasty crap pumpkin pie. If you didn't catch that, I do not care for pumpkin pie. I don't care how much you smother it with whipping cream, it's still a smashed up pumpkin in a crust~barf! I'll take chocolate cake instead.:D

SMILE today and of course don't forget to be thankful for the little things.

Fabulously Fashionable Faux Fur

These WERE the days. Do you remember all the fur coat stores in the 80's? Weren't they a symbol of wealth back in the day? My mom never had one but I remember loving to pet them.:D

The more FAKE the better. Is that the same when it comes to boobs?

I realize my fur vest laying here on my kitchen counter looks a bit like road kill but, use your imagination. Jeans, killer boots (wish I had some) and a funky hat~whoop whoop...lets get this party started. Now only if I had somewhere cool to go. Oh well, the local teriyaki joint and movies will have to do. OMG! If you've been to Target lately then you've seen the white and black fur vests they have in the women's department. I tried them both on. The white one was like the abominable snowman and the black one made me look like a gorilla~funny stuff.

So while doing some late night on-line browsing the other day I noticed that Nords had a section under the shoes category called "toning shoes". Being curious I had to check it out. It's Trendy Tuesday...Do You Dare?

The legwarmer sock. I will always and forever be a fan of the ever-so-cool legwarmer. Go 80's! It probably has to do with my passion for dance. However, regardless of my dance history, I think I'd still dig this trend. I saw (somewhere?) these paired with leggings and shorty cowboy boots. They did I little peek-a-boo out of the top of the boot and it was so cute! I don't care for leggings and shorty boots alone. I tried it the other day and HELLO Mr. Kankle! (NOTE: Leggings with taller boots-chic!) So, adding a little color and texture with the legwarmer sock to that combo is sure to be the perfect touch. Now that's what I call fashion!
