Weekend At My House

You know you've had too full of a weekend when you look forward to Monday.
I need a nap.
I didn't really take any pics this weekend so you're stuck with these. I broke out my star headband that I adore. But, after wearing it remembered why I don't wear it often. Headache! And THIS is my new favorite investment piece. I'm pretty sure it's going to win the popularity contest this fall over eveything else in my closet.
BTW have I ever mentioned shoes matter?
It's Monday. Make it a great one.

P.S. Project emerald green guest bath almost complete. Amost.

Secret's Out

If I don't finish this project (guest bath) over the weekend my hubs just might kill me.
Wish me luck!
And as always...Crappy pics coming soon!

Do you have an emerald fetish?
If you do you'll enjoy these pics.

I love black, emerald, and gold together.
Does it make you wanna say "follow the yellow brick road"?

It's Friday.
Shop. Eat Cake. Paint!

P.S. The color is "Emerald" from Pantone Universe by Lowes. It's all sorts of fabulous! And of course super chic because it's the 2013 color of the year!

P.S.S.
Don't you think Dorthy would have looked way hotter in these on her way to the Emerald City. So freaking gorgeous!

And the lucky winner?
It's a secret!;)

BTW if you are not familiar, this is the Pantone paint color line from Lowes.
AKA sugar coated candy for me!

No Butts About It

Peanut butter M&M cookies.
Enough said.
These cookies will totally make your butt huge. Who cares, they're amazing.
They're especially amazing when consumed at 10:20 PM with a glass of ice cold milk and your loved one by your side.
 Make some. They rock!

And while you're at it you might as well share the love and make someone else's butt big too. Be nice  and deliver some to an unsuspecting neighbor.

Have a teriffic day!

p.s. make sure you chill the dough like the recipes says.

Cool Pops

 The cool kids.
First of all I just need to get this out of the way. Crewcuts (j. crew for kids) has the stinkin CUTEST clothes for fall. They are stupid expensive but OMGOSH daaaaarrrrrling! Seriously? THIS is killing me. 25% off sale going on now. Hey, it's better than a moldy piece of cheese!

These boots are begging to come live at my house. I'm thinking they would get along famously with my pink cowboy boots. That I never wear but they're pink! Doesn't every girl need a pair of pink cowboy boots in her closet?
These are kookoo x2!

This baby tote is adorable!
(other colors available. yellow is my personal favorite.)

And for a moment let's revisit the topic of dance (love that sweatshirt above btw). I don't think I mentioned this but I'm back teaching dance at a local studio. I can't decide if I'm loving it, but that's a story for another day. Today in class a little girl picked her nose and showed her booger to me. That is not where I was going with this dance story but, thought I'd throw that in for a happy thought. You're welcome.

Anyway...
Today I decided I was going to teach them (them being 3 yr olds) how to do the splits. Let me remind you I am old. Petty much too old to be demonstrating to 3 yr olds how to do the splits. Especially cold turkey! After being heavily warmed up maybe. But cold turkey? My brain must have been suffering from booger shock.
So...
to make a long story short
I demoed,
I heard a POP,
and now I think I have two vaginas.

 Getting old sucks!
Have a marvelous day!

MIA

I've been a little busy.
Doing absolutely nothing.
Last week there was a very big birthday at our house so we decided to celebrate pool side with no children. Do we feel bad about it? Not a bit!
Happy Birthday Prince Charming.
Thank you for turning old so that we could have an excuse to enjoy a lovely get away together.

P.S. Tried to convince the prince to buy me these on his birthday. He was having no part in that! At that price can't say I blame him.:)

Weekend At My House

dehydration.
WOWZERS!
it's a bitch.
attended my son's football game in 1082 degree heat.
between no shade, a baul-baby toddler who dumped his snow cone, and a lost shoe under the bleachers that i had to crawl on hands and knees (literally) to retrieve, i was defeated.
spent the rest of the weekend on the couch with the room spinning faster than I knew possible.
weird stuff!

BUT,
the good news is Target has the darndest sweaters for the season.
have you seen them? adorbs!

It's Monday. Make it a great one!
P.S. All the above sweaters can be ordered at target.com.

Peace and Quiet

 First and foremost..
Happy Friday!

We have found an extra happy home. What's the secret? Removal of the T.V. from the main living area of our home. Impossible? Your husband would never allow it? Your kids would be deprived?
Maybe? For us it has been pretty awesome.
I'm not the crazy mother who forbids television. Honestly, the reason why we did it was because we bought an amazing couch for the bonus room months ago that wasn't getting used because there was no T.V. to watch and buying a new fancy T.V. was not a proirity. So, we had a moving party.
It has brought quiet dinners (ok not really there are still kids involved), uninterrupted conversations (ok not really again there are still kids involved), and an overall added quiteness (ok, ok if it wasn't for those kids!)

Really though, it's been great!

Hope you have a happy, enjoyable, peaceful weekend!

Lengthy Lashes

The eyelash extension debate summer 2013

And so it goes like this...
I did it.
The end.

What made me decide to try them?
1. My friend has them and she's totally hot!
2. I wanted to be hot like my friend.:)
3. That same friend's mom does them out of her home...
4. for CHEAP!
(Comparitively speaking that is. I paid $75 full set/ $45 fill)

I was against it for a really long time. Mostly because of price and maintenance. Unless you find a groupon they can run about $200 for a full set. (from a salon) THEN...there's the stinkin upkeep. Every two weeks they told me. Every two weeks $85-$125 for a fill?? (in a salon)
I'd rather buy shoes!

BUT...
to make a long story short I LOVE them.
They make me feel fancy without a stitch of make up on.
And the hubs digs them too!;)

I'm wearing gloss, blush, and filled my brows.
That's it! Promise!
(I'm totally going to say this wrong but I'm wearing "thirteens"-length, "1.5's"-lash thickness, and seems like something with a "b". Wait, maybe that's my bra.-hee hee. No really I think there's a "b" in there somewhere??)

Other things to note:
Application takes FOREVER! (2-3 hours for full set) A synthetic lash is literally glued to every single one of your own lashes. I have friends who get fills every two weeks and I have some that go three. I on the other hand go four weeks and could probably go longer. They are slightly high maintanence. I don't wear mascara with mine and it's highly recommended not to. You don't need it! Why spend that kind of money on beautiful fake lashes to gunk them up with mascara? That's my opinion anyway. I personally haven't had any problems at all with mine but, I've heard a handful of wierdo stories. (glue reactions, loss of lashes, etc.) You have to groom them and you need to be careful around water. No face scrubbing or eye rubbing.
They do fall out, they do grow out and get creepy long (I pull those out), and you can get them removed if you hate them.

And...
They make great save-it-for-later treat catchers. HUH?
Here's my funny lash story that's probably not all that funny. Well sorta funny.
The other night I took my kids out to dinner to one of our favorite local resturants where they serve slices of delicious rootbeer cake. You know me and my cake! Anyway, my cake eating/devouring apparently got a little out of hand because long after our resturant departure and about five stores later Kels looked and me and said, "Uh Mom, I think you have a piece of cake in your eyelahses." Yep, sure enough. I had a big hunka chunk of rootbeer cake stuck in my lashes.
You know...just saving it for later.

Conclusion...
they are definately worth trying.
I bet you will love them like I love cake!

P.S. Seriously? How freaking cute is this twerp?!

Weekend At My House

Should we go? Should we not? Should we go? Should we not?
Here's to last minute get aways with absolutely no agenda.
We could get use to this!
