Just Peachy!

A little summer delight! About a year ago a good girlfriend invited us over for dinner (she's an incredible cook btw!) and served us this AMAZING dessert. Since it's peach season I thought I'd share it with you. My family can down the whole thing in one sitting. It truly is delightful! Enjoy!

Peach Buckle
(Recipe is slightly confusing the first time you make it.)
6 c. peaches-thickly sliced and peeled
1 T. lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. cornstarch
Mix together above ingredients and put into a 2 quart casserole dish.

First Topping:
1 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
In bowl, mix these ingredients. Then in second bowl, beat 4 T. softened butter and 1/3 c. sugar. Then beat in 1 large egg. On low, alternately beat in flour mixture and 1/4 c. milk.

Second Topping:
2 T. flour
2 T. packed brown sugar
1/4 t. cinnamon
1 T. butter
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar and cinnamon. Then rub in butter until crumbly. Spoon batter over filling. Top with brown sugar mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 min. until bubbly and golden brown.

NOTE: This recipe seems much more complicated than it really is. It could be a little more clearly written. BUT, give it a try. I promise you won't regret it. It is soooo good!

Other random happenings:

Lucy leaves me presents all around the house at least 85 times a day. Clothes...sure, underwear too...I don't know? I'm pretty sure she'll need to go live with an auntie the day she turns 13!

My prince picked this up for me at Tiffany's the other day. How thoughtful of him. Alright, alright, I picked it up at the Rack for fifteen bucks! Bling bling ring ring...I love it!

Chirp~found this little "tray" of sunlight at IKEA. Cutie!

And, slowly but surely... Lucy's new room. Looks a bit like a cotton candy combo pack from the county fair. Thank you hubs for kicking it in gear and picking up MY slack. XOXO

It's FRIDAY...don't you love the sound of that?

P.S. The next time someone asks you how you're doing say, "Just peachy!". However, there is a degree of sarcasm to that statement no matter how seriously stated. Wouldn't you agree?:D

It's Trendy Tuesday...Do You Dare?

It has been weeks since I've done a TT (Trendy Tuesday). And, as always, I'm excited to share! So, here goes....

How would you feel about putting a pair of PATENT tennies on your toes. Yes, that's right, I said PATENT tennies. If you've been following my blog you'll know that I have a fetish with all things PATENT. Those who don't care for PATENT, I'll never understand (j/k!).

Today's trend comes to us from the creative world of Boden. Even though I have yet to actually order something from this company, I absolutely adore turning the brightly colored pages of the catalog. The clothing is like eye candy and their accessories are delicious. And these patent babies just might be tempting enough for me to actually place an order. Dress em up, dress em down, pair with a skirt and knee socks or a simple pair of jeans, I truly believe that any princess would look absolutely funkerrificly dazzling in a pair of these shoes. Not to mention the COMFORT factor involved!

Peek, look, stare, covet, WISH, want, need (ya right!), adore, enjoy, BUY:D THESE. However, I cannot tell a lie. I may be passionate for PATENT but I'm a sucker for polka dots! Killer cuteness!

Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday. Wear something TRENDY!

A Little Chuckle Here And A Little Chuckle There

I love to laugh. I love it when when my kids laugh. I love it when my prince makes me laugh. I love a house of laughs. Laughter...excellent medicine for the soul!
Things That Make Me LAUGH:

2. Lucy's terminology. Kids are hilarious!
3. People mocking Lord of the Dance (Riverdance)-like THIS
4. Unexpected tripping (non-injury causing of course)
5. An undone zipper
6. Speedy rollercoasters
7. The movie Get Smart
8. Sumo wrestling
9. Grandma's with purple hair
10. Crash Up Derbies (Is that what they're called?)
11. A gobbling turkey
12. When a grown man screams due to a silly prank
13. Jay (bro-in-law), Ryan (nephew) and Jer (hubs) doing a fashion show-don't ask!
14. 2am conversations
15. My life~ If you cannot laugh at yourself then you've got a serious problem!
Conclusion: Lighten up and laugh today! It's not that bad.
What gives you the giggles?

The List

To Do:
1. Wake up
2. Get dressed
3. Accessorize~of course!
4. Get in car
5. Drive down to harbor
6. Walk to end of dock
7. Chuck Mr. Computer as far as the arm shall allow
8. Get back in car
9. Drive to computer store
10. Buy new computer

And there you have it.

I have had so many silly, funny, "Wo is me", Are you for real? moments in the last couple weeks that I have wanted to share but Mr. Computer (my next computer is going to be "princess" instead of "Mr."!) has not allowed me to share the humor. For example, my Lulu chose to wash her hands in an already used public toilet the other day as my head was turned. Pleasant eh?! Oh, and let's not forget the beautiful picture she colored on my brand new LEATHER car door. Ya, that's right... She's a mini Picasso for the car. Let's just say I struggled to keep my cool for that one. Always love her just don't always like her.;)

Anyway, please be patient with me as I work through this challenging time. The LAST thing I want to spend money on right now is a freakin new computer. However, it's pathetically ridiculous how dependent I am on such technology. Anyone out there have any suggestions on which model to purchase? Preferable one that works at lightening speed, never dies, pays the bills, washes the dishes and troubleshoots itself. Oh, and a nice shade of pink would be lovely as well!

P.S. Got my fuchsia cowboys boots from the Nords sale. They are so crazy...I LOVE them. Pic. to come soon. That is if Mr. Computer complies.

P.S.S. THIS liner in Ooh and Aah-shade: black and silver- by Too Faced is so much fun! Pair it with your fakies (as in eyelashes....and/or boobs:D) and you'll be glamouriffic! Go play with it for FREE at your local Sephora. More of my favorite Too Faced product recommendations to come.

What Have I Been Up To?

Visiting Big Bird's Home
(Tai Pan~very cool home decorating store in Utah)
What on earth would one do with a basket like this?
Coveting my sis-in-laws new houndstooth chair (that we made her buy:D)~It's so cute!

Painting my sis-in-laws house to match her new chair that we made her buy.
Wearing extremely fashionable clothes while painting my sis-in-laws house and coveting her new chair.

Late nite dinner here outside the patio in the warm breeze.
(Killer soups!)

Shopping at REAMS

...for cowboy boots. Now that's just hilarious! (For those of you not familiar with REAMS, let me just say it's not really a store you'd normally find me or my sisters in.) Nords has a pair going on sale for the Anniversary sale but the stupid things are still $300! We stopped in REAMS in hopes of finding something just as suitable. No such luck~surprise, surprise!:D

And last but certainly not least, wondering...Is she for real?
Please accept my apology for post delays.
Family first.
Shopping second.
Eating at my fav. Utah restaurants third.
Blogging...when I have time while on vacation.

Let Freedom Ring

Let me just cut to the chase...

Why I don't favor the 4th of July:
1. Fireworks!
2. Money spent on fireworks
3. Traffic after the fireworks
4. Matching 4th Of July T-shirts from Old Navy:D
5. Pyromaniac husbands
6. Burned feet~Who hasn't ever burned their toe on a firework? Why would one put shoes on to light fireworks?
7. Chunks of firework debris flying at your face
8. "America" by Neil Diamond~However, it's fun to perform dramatic hand motions while it's playing!
9. Loud booms until 3am
10. Sparklers...Someone ALWAYS gets burned.

So Bah Hum Bug from me and...

Happy 4th of July to you!
We're going to the Stadium of FIRE tonight (big Utah thing) and the Jonas Brothers are performing. I've been rehearsing their moves all week long so that I can dance along.
p.s. In case you were wondering, the Jonas Brothers are NOT good!:D

Tourist Time

Where in the world is Princess Pookie?
Free bag of potatoes if you guess right!

TOURIST!
Not that sportin' the tourist look is a bad thing but if you are under age 60 may I suggest not testing this look. Wearing capri's and tube socks just doesn't make sense to me. Is showing 1.5" inches of skin really that much cooler (as in temp.) than just throwing on pants? I don't think so.:D

Yesterday while out jogging the pleasant farm rodes in Rigby, Idaho I swear I saw the REAL Napoleon Dynamite. This dude was just casually cruizin' around on his 10 speed. Later while driving into town I'm pretty sure I saw his buddy Pedro. I'm not kidding~Hilarious!!

I believe this is still the #1 hair style in Idaho.
For some reason the cowgirls can't let their 1985 hair dos die. Thin, permed and bleached blond~sexy combonation.

Please Note: I have very deeps roots in Idaho-who I adore. However, this city girl will always and forever poke fun of it. I just can't help it. :D

Peace out...Off to Utah!

Family, Family EVERYWHERE....Literally!

Thanks for all the amazing meals...including the rice pudding:D, the great activities, (camper, 4 wheeler & trampoline especially!) memorable conversations and most importantly silly memories.
