No Boyz Allowed

Last week my girlfriend and I hosted a "Wear Red She Said" girls night out and we had a most excellent time. From girly charades, to sharing nicknames and bedtime attire secrets, I think everyone went home with a smile of their face. Hey, getting a minor break from the real world (kids, laundry, husbands:D, dirty bathrooms) is enough to put a smile on anyone's face~right?!

AGENDA: Everyone was asked to wear the color red and bring a $10 gift that reflected them and/or a gift they would buy for themself. This was a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better-maybe a little TMI:)-and enjoy the gift of girlfriends. Food, games and most importantly...LAUGHTER are a few things that made the evening a success. So what are you waiting for? It's your turn to host the party of the year!

Here's a glimpse...

The Invitation~by mail of course. Oh so fancy!

Drinks all around! Margarita's, Pina Colada's, Cinderella's, Mojito's. All NON-alcoholic mind you! It just goes to show that you DO NOT need alcohol to have a great girl night!! A drunken princess is anything but classy, cool or sexy! Ick!

Rebecca...you are THE professional rockstar pretty drink maker!

The Hostesses of the Mostesses.

Treat Menu....

Cream puffs, chocolate dipped marshmallows topped with coconut and almonds
and my ever famous (not really but I like to think so) chocolate covered strawberries!

Strike your sexy pose hot mommas!

Mission accomplished! Thanks everyone for coming.
Can't wait to do it again.

Other crazy things we'd like to do:
1) Dancing in the big city
2) Kayaking
3) Sushi night
4) Go to the theatre (not movie)
5) Sleep over!
6) Karaoke
7) Duelling piano bar
8) SPA day
9) Fast food hopping
10) And let us not forget...SHOP!
*Keep in mind, all of these will be attended with a particular dress code~bring on the wigs!:D

"CINDERELLA" (drink recipe)
Equal parts of orange and pineapple juice
a dash grenadine
1 splash club soda
1 splash sour mix

Garnish: orange slice and cherry
Shake all the ingredients together, except the soda, and pour into a Collins glass. Top up with the soda and garnish. Rub rim of glass with fresh lime or lemon and dip into sugar. Total fancy cuteness!

BTW: We made a special trip to IKEA to pick up very inexpensive fancy glasses for all our drinking concoctions! FUN....FUN!

Princess Homework: Get on the phone right NOW and get your girly princess friends together. Admit it, you love to get invited to a get together so now it's your turn. Invite away!

THIS website is a really fun resource for GNO's.

P.S. If anyone wants a copy of the invite I'll be more than happy to e-mail it to you. All you'll have to do is fill in the date. No excuses now! mrsprincesspookie@hotmail.com
Got a GNO idea? I'd LOVE to hear it!~comment away please.

  1. Oh. My. GOSH. This song (Lady In Red) reminds me of HIGH SCHOOL. I went to a prom wearing RED with this boy who I'd taken dance with, and he twirled me all over the dance floor in my red dress for this song. It was way cool....

Ok, that was a nice trip down memory lane. :) Looks like a fun party!

One of my favs is dustin the ole' hills off and shakin my booty.
One I've REALLY wanted to do is 70's night. Everyone pic a funky outfit and meet at the roller skating rink. Or how bout' an 80's bowling night. That's right! I wanna see how high you can get your hair...not to mention the laughs everyone would have.
